- All in-person classes are conducted outside in a covered area of your choosing. During inclement weather, classes may be held in a garage or screened-in porch.
- Students will not share materials.

TAILS AND TALES SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAMS 2021
Animal Anatomy: Form and Function
Let’s examine animal eyes, ears, tails, and beaks! Participants investigate various animal anatomy through hands-on, inquiry-based activities in this fast-paced, fun, educational program.
Biomimicry Engineering Lab
STEM in action! Participants learn about biomimicry and how engineers imitate animals and nature when designing products. We will then use that knowledge to design and engineer a new product based on an animal and/or nature.
SURVIVE: Wild Animal Adaptations Lab
Participants learn about some of the Earth’s most remarkable animal adaptations through engaging hands-on activities. Then they’ll design and create a creature that can survive using adaptations of its own!
Fairy Tale STEAM Lab
Stories, Science, Art, and Engineering collide as participants investigate, design, and engineer creations that “save” animal characters plucked from traditional fairy tales!
Wizards and Magic
Participants investigate chemistry (think bubbling potions), engage in fun science demonstrations that seem like “magic”, and young wizards learn some cool physics tricks!
Artists and Makers
Art and science meet in this fast-paced, creative program! Participants who love to draw, paint, craft, and tell stories will love using science to make art!
Story Time STEAM
Participants use STEAM to craft, tell, and share their own stories in innovative ways- combining science, art, and engineering! The process can be magical, transformative, confidence-building, and a lot of fun!
